#OnlyCatsKnow – The Story Behind

During my time in Bulgaria, I met a young mother cat who had given birth to three tiny kittens. One of them is the star of this photo: little Nea.

In the moment the photo was taken, Nea gazed at the world with wide, dreamy eyes, as if she were holding a secret among humans — a secret only she could ever know. The wind brushed through her fur, and everything around her felt new, vast, and magical. I was watching her, but she was the one truly seeing.
